Any large-scale event like the VMAs means that we are in for plenty of things to talk about.
From some of the remarks celebrities make about other celebrities on stage, their performances, and of course, to what they wore to the big event, this year’s VMAs did not disappoint. From Drake’s tear inducing, heartwarming/melting ode (proposal?) to Rihanna to Beyoncé’s jaw dropping performances (literally, there were so many!), we were all hooked to our screens for a good couple of hours.
Speaking strictly in terms of the outfits the celebrities wore to the 2016 VMA’s, we saw all types; the good, the bad and the ugly. In this post however we will be talking just about the outfits that were drop dead gorgeous. And speaking of drop dead gorgeous, the very first person on our Best Dressed List is none other than Kim Kardashian.
Selfies is not the only thing she knows how to take; the woman knows how to dress and knock everyone dead. Kim flaunted her post-baby body in a semi-sheer mini dress that made most of us turn green with envy. The strappy heels and the gold necklaces really pulled the outfit together.
Beyonce remained in the spotlight for all the right reasons. Her stunning, see-through Francesco Scognamiglio number made sure that Queen Bey looked like the royalty she is. The detail that we couldn’t keep our eyes off of was the almost winglike feather collar. The jewelry too was on point; the $12million worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds that the singer had on made her sparkle.
However, her best accessory was not the diamonds, but her 4 year old daughter Blue Ivy who was equally well dressed in an $11,000 rose-gold gown by Mischka Aoki. The mom and daughter are totally fashion goals.
Unlike Beyoncé, Amber Rose kept things simple, yet still managing to show enough skin without looking too racy. A black blazer with a plunging neckline coupled with the sassiest shades we have seen in a logn time, made the star ooze tons and tons of confidence.
The Queen of Rap was spotted wearing a gorgeous navy blue dress, courtesy Bao Tranchi which accentuated her killer figure at all the right places. The dress itself had plenty of cutouts and mesh used everywhere, somehow Nicki managed to rock the dress. The dress did make things a little difficult for Minaj, mobility wise.
Although Nicki looked like a million bucks in the dress, she was not really able to walk properly. Despite that she was able to somehow manage great poses for the photographers…we feel like the white carpet wall and her boyfriend Meek Mill should be given an honor ray mention in this regard.
With so many celebrities bringing their A-Fashion Game to the event, it was difficult narrowing it down to just a handful of stars that impressed us the most with their fashion sense.
