It is past the mid-point of the year, and many movies have been released and watched. However, there are still many movies that I think you should watch before the year ends. The most amazing movies are blockbusters and studio editions. These are the movies almost everyone can watch. These are some of the best-rated movies this fall, and you would be missing out if you don’t get to watch them.

Black Mass

It has been long since we saw Johnny Depp out of the waters and whenever he got out, he did not make quite an appearance. However, this time round we see a better part of Johnny Depp out of the water. He comes back as a real-life Boston gangster and crime king Whitey Bulger. He became a confidential informant for the FBI to help eliminate criminal activities in the area. The writer and director Cooper has nailed it in a violent and brooding atmosphere before. This is another chance for him to showcase his strengths and it also offers Depp a good opportunity to amaze us out of the waters.

This is one very tricky movie for the audience this fall. It is directed by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur who is continuing to make his entry into American cinema. He is known for directing movies like Contraband and 2 Guns. Everest is a major undertaking to him and it is being cited as a mountain for him to climb. It has been long since we saw a good mountain climbing thriller and this one could be it. It is packed with an amazing cast like Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Hawke as they take on a challenge to climb one of the most dangerous mountains in history. It is a show of might between man and nature and this fall we see who wins the battle.

The Walk

This movie comes from the play Phillipe Petit. It is a story of the only man to walk on a high wire that was strung between the Twin Towers. The movie has been tailor made for IMAX, and it should pique your interest this fall. It is a 3D film which is worth watching on big screens. This is like one of those heists movies except that nobody is getting robbed this time round.

The Martian

Matt Damon has been left stranded on a strange planet before and managed to come back alive. This movie is, however, a little different. It is based on the bestselling self-published novel by Andy Weir. It features Matt Damon as an astronaut left behind on Mars during a dangerous mission there. The film matches the unique tone of the novel. It is a sci-fi feature that embraces a situation with levity, and it also combines science with a very casual and first person feel of also features stars like Jessica Chastain, Donald Glover, Michael Pena and others who are devoted earthlings who try their best to rescue Matt Damon from Mars.

Everyone heard the story of the rogue CIA agent Snowden. This is the story of the whistleblower and how he exposed American politics. This is a film that is causing people to have some mind blowing expectations. Tom Hardy always delivers in any role that he is given and with this one, people are expecting 110 percent. The movie is based on a book the profession of violence and it is about crime and some infamous London gangsters against Tom Hardy. Brian Helgeland brings the story of Ronnie Kray and Reggie as they rise to become mob Kings in London to the big screens. It is a Hardy versus Hardy movie, and the anticipation is booming.

Steve Jobs

This is one of the highly anticipated movies this fall. It showcases America’s genius Steve Jobs and viewers are saying this could be the chance to get just a small glimpse of what was going on in the mind of this tech legend behind Apple’s inventions. Michael Fassbender stars as the Apple co-creator and the movie is directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin. It looks like this is an awards contender waiting to happen.

Crimson Peak

The Mexican filmmaker and visionary director Guillermo del Toro is back to his old roots after the bombast Pacific Rim. Crimson Peak is a haunted house movie that stars Mia Wasikowska as an author who is torn in between the temptation for a mysterious stranger and the love for her childhood friend. She tries to escape the ghosts of her past, and she gets swept in the stranger’s house where everything is not like it seems including her sister.
