CorruptionTransparency International is an organization against corruption. According to their website, they “give voice to the victims and witnesses of corruption. [They] work together with governments, businesses and citizens to stop the abuse of power, bribery and secret deals.”

They recently came up with a ‘Corruption Perceptions Index” for 2015, and the countries on this list may surprise you. The index is scored on a scale of 100. TI claims that 114 countries on this list scored below 50. Some have improved over the years, but we are seeing a number of countries becoming worse.

A correlation that the study finds is half of the top ten most corrupt countries could also be included among the “least peaceful places in the world. So yes, war torn countries are likely to see corruption, but it is interesting that only makes up 50% of the bottom 10.
