Melania-Trump-I-followed-US-immigration-laws

There are stories immortalized as fairy tales, and there are people who live the fairy tale. If in 1975 you had told 5-year old Melania that she would be a possible United States first lady, she would have scoffed and run off to help her mom pick out dress patterns. Fast forward to 2016 and you could serve the 46-year-old a steaming hot ‘I told you so’.

The daughter of a Slovenian motor dealership manager father and a patternmaker mother, Melania Trump was born in 1970 as Melanija Knavs. For the early part of her life, she led a rather normal life, thanks to her modest surroundings and upbringing. Her education has a strong Slovenian influence, as her first year of university was in Slovenia. Her disputed architecture degree was acquired at one of Europe’s best universities, the University of Ljubljana.

Melania’s progress from career to career has maintained a pattern of never looking back once she has her sights set. When she decided to move to Milan, that was final, and it proved to be a masterstroke in igniting her more than illustrious modeling career. It wasn’t until 1988 when she penned an agreement for modeling shoots in Milan. Eight years later, she was in New York, signing a different contract. Her immigration status has been questioned after the nude photos were released by the New York Post, according to an article in Politico. During her stint in New York, a young Melania was noticed by Mr. Trump during New York Fashion week. At the initial meeting, Trump was separated from his then wife. When Trump asked for the bombshell’s number, Melania refused and insisted that Trump leaves his. Contrary to assumption, he left every possible number he could be reached on.

In 2005, donning a dress in the region of 100 to 200k, she walked down the aisle with the real estate magnate. Her husband talks highly of her, calling her his pollster. If there has been any controversy in their marriage, they have hidden it well as Mr. Trump says they’re very compatible. It is worth noting that she is among other first ladies such as Betty Ford and Pat Nixon who have had modeling careers.

Mrs. Trump has been very supportive of her husband, only chipping in to say that he could watch what he says. Other than that, she has come out as the model wife to a potential U.S president, tailoring her style in red, white and blue colors. The fact that she is from a communist country doesn’t seem to be much of an issue.

She hasn’t been super vocal about her husband’s aspirations, but she has been right at his side. Even when she was called suddenly to give a word, she was as graceful as ever, establishing herself as a sweetheart of the people. In the lead up to the nomination, she made an official speech, assuring the American people that her husband was the right choice.

Recently, Mrs. Trump has come under fire when it was realized that her speech was almost word for word similar to sitting first lady, Mitchelle Obama. While this fiasco may taint Trump’s surprising rise to near the helm, his wife has been likened to another first lady who was the classic portrayal of a first lady, Jackie Kennedy.
